Shalimar Wires Industries Limited

We are located in Rishra, right on N.K. Banerjee Street. It’s an old part of the Hooghly district, and you can really feel that history when you walk around. Our address is 107/4, and it’s a place where we’ve been making wires for Shalimar Wires Industries Limited for quite a long time. The street can get narrow, and sometimes the trucks have a bit of a hard time maneuvering, but we’ve all figured out how to make it work. In West Bengal, things have a certain pace. We start early when it’s still relatively cool. The machines have their own sound, a steady rhythm that we don’t even notice anymore. It’s not a polished corporate office. It’s a factory setting through and through. There is grease on the floors and the smell of metal in the air. We know our neighbors well, and most of the staff live nearby, so there’s a real sense of being part of Rishra. We deal with the power cuts and the humidity just like everyone else. During the Durga Puja, the whole street changes, and it's hard to get any work done with the festivities, but we enjoy the break. Our focus is just on getting the wire orders out on time. It’s honest work, and we don’t feel the need to dress it up with fancy words. We’ve been here so long that we’re part of the furniture.
