We are based in Nabagram, which is a part of Serampore in the Hooghly district. Our office is on Ghosal Para Lane at number 89. It is a pretty quiet neighborhood, which is nice because it is far from the main city rush of Kolkata. We do civil construction. This basically means we build houses, walls, and small local roads. Most of our work is right here in this part of West Bengal. We started out small and we have stayed that way for a long time. The office is just a simple room in a building where we keep our tools and all the site plans. It is usually a bit of a mess with cement bags or levels lying around the floor. We do not have a marketing team or anyone like that. Word of mouth is how we get almost all of our work. If we build a good wall for one person, their neighbor eventually calls us. That is just how it goes for us. The monsoon season is our biggest enemy. Everything has to stop when the rain starts pouring down. We spend that time fixing our machines and just waiting for the sun to come back out. Our workers are mostly local guys who have been with us for years. We know their families well. It is a very direct way of working without any complicated corporate layers.
