Rwitvastra

We are located at 119 Sitalatala Road in Serampore. It’s an old part of town, and the road can get pretty narrow when there’s a lot of traffic. Rwitvastra is tucked into a building that has been here for years. Inside, it’s mostly shelves and stacks of fabric. We spend a lot of time measuring things out and checking the quality of what comes in. It’s not a high-tech warehouse. We use old-fashioned measuring tapes and handwritten notes for a lot of things. The lighting isn't the best in the back, so we do most of the important stuff near the front windows. There’s a ceiling fan that wobbles a bit, but it keeps the air moving. Serampore is a place with a lot of history, and you can feel that when you’re walking down Sitalatala Road. We have neighbors who have been here as long as we have. Sometimes the rain makes the street a bit of a mess, but we just put down some bags and keep going. We don't have a big marketing department or anything like that. It’s just a few of us making sure the clothes and fabrics are handled right. We eat our lunch together in the small back room. It’s a quiet way to run a business, but it works for us. We just try to keep things moving along without making too much of a fuss. The work is steady and that is enough.
