Rubia Ice Cream

We are out in Kharial Village, not too far from the Dankuni Coal Complex Post Office. It’s a bit of a quiet area compared to the city, but it keeps us busy enough. We make ice cream here and send it out. The roads around Dankuni Tehsil can be a bit rough sometimes, especially when the big trucks are moving through the coal complex area. We started this because there weren't many places for ice cream around here. It’s mostly local workers and families from the village who stop by. We don't have a big fancy office with chairs. It’s just a practical space where we work. Sometimes it gets dusty because of the location, but we keep the inside clean for the food. We’ve had to learn a lot about keeping things cold in this heat. It’s just me and a couple of others from the village helping out. We don't do much talking; we just get the work done. People know where the post office is, so they usually find us okay. It’s a simple setup. We don't have any big plans to change things right now. Just making sure there is enough ice cream for whoever wants it. The days start early and end late, especially in the summer months. It’s just a normal part of life here in Kharial. We’re used to the noise from the trucks and the slow pace of the village life.
