Opio Mosaica

Opio Mosaica is located in Bandel, which is in the Hooghly district of West Bengal. You can find us at Mr. Sadhan Kumargupta’s place in Ambagan. We are quite close to the Military Keota area. It’s a nice spot near Sahagunj with the pin code 712104. We work on mosaics here. It’s a bit of a messy business with all the tiles and the cement, but we enjoy the process of putting things together. The area is usually quite lively because of the military presence nearby. We have a small workshop space where we keep all our supplies. Mr. Sadhan Kumargupta has been kind enough to let us run things from here. It’s not a big factory or a shop on a main road. It’s more of a local operation where we take our time with each piece. Sometimes the dust from the cutting gets everywhere, but that’s just part of the job. We don't have a website or a big advertising budget. People usually hear about us through word of mouth in the neighborhood. Bandel is a good place to be, with a lot of history and hardworking people. We just try to do our bit and create things that look decent. It’s a quiet life, mostly spent sorting through colors and shapes until they fit. We are just regular people making mosaics. There are always piles of stone and glass around the room. It’s a bit crowded, but it feels like a real workshop should feel.
