We are located over at Soumen Koley’s place in Gentegori, right in the Palashi area. If you know Dhaniakhali in Hooghly, you probably know where we are. It’s not a big corporate office or anything like that. It is just a local spot where we get things done. Most of us live right here in the neighborhood. We started doing this because there was a need in the village. It is quiet out here most days, except for when the local market is busy. We don’t have fancy desks or a receptionist. Usually, someone is just sitting on a plastic chair out front. We try to help the people around us. West Bengal can be hot in the summer, but we keep moving. We don't use big words or have long meetings. If something needs fixing or someone needs a hand, we just talk it out and try to find a way. It’s practical work. My cousin helps out sometimes too. We’ve known the families in Palashi for years. It’s just how life is in this part of Hooghly. We keep our records in some old notebooks and try to stay organized. It’s not always perfect, but we do what we can with what we have. People just know where to find us if they need anything. We’ve been at this for a bit now and it feels right.
