Ma Chandi Rice Traders

Our trading spot is located in Mograganj, over in the Mogra area. We mostly deal with different varieties of rice that come to us from the local mills in the district. The warehouse is filled with heavy sacks stacked high up to the ceiling. It is a very physical job moving those bags around all day, but it definitely keeps us fit. We spend a lot of our time checking the quality of the rice grains to make sure there are not too many broken pieces or small stones mixed in the bags. People from the local market come here to buy in bulk for their own small shops or for big family events like weddings. It is a dusty place to work, so we usually keep the big front doors wide open to let the air circulate. We do not have a fancy website or a team of marketing people. We just rely on the quality of the rice we sell and our reputation here in Mogra. Sometimes the market prices for grain go up and down like crazy, and we have to spend time explaining that to our regular customers. We have been here long enough that we know most of the farmers and the other traders by their first names. It is a steady business, nothing too exciting, but it is what we know how to do. We just open up, count the bags, and start the day.
