Joy Guru Rice Mill

Joy Guru Rice Mill is located in Village Alipur, which is part of the Gurap post area in the Bhastara taluka. We are surrounded by green fields and the open sky. The mill itself is a large, noisy building where we process paddy into rice. You can hear the machines clanking from the main road. It is dusty work, and there is always a layer of fine husks on everything. We have been running this mill for many years now. It is a family-oriented business and we have several workers from the village who have been with us since the start. We don't have a website or any fancy marketing. People just bring their grain to us because they know where we are in Alipur. The seasons dictate how busy we are. During harvest time, we are working from early morning until late at night. During the off-season, things quiet down and we spend time maintaining the machines. The monsoon can be tricky because we have to keep everything dry. We have a small office near the entrance where we keep our accounts in big handwritten registers. We don't use computers much. It’s a traditional way of running a rice mill, but it works for us. We are just a group of people doing a job that needs to be done. If you ever find yourself near Bhastara, you will likely see our chimney and smell the rice.
