Indian Sarees

You can find us on Hospital Road in Chinsurah, tucked into Jugi Para Lane. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze back there, but it’s where we’ve always been. Being near the hospital means there are always people moving around outside. We sell all sorts of Indian sarees. It’s what we know. My father started this years ago, and I just took over when he couldn't do it anymore. We don't have a website or anything fancy. People just know where we are by word of mouth. The lane can get a bit muddy when it rains, so watch your step if you're coming by. Inside, it’s mostly just shelves and stacks of sarees reaching up to the ceiling. We try to keep it organized, but sometimes things get mixed up when we're busy. We aren't trying to change the world, we just want to sell clothes to the people in Chinsurah. Most of our regulars are local women who’ve been coming here since they were young girls. It’s a nice feeling when someone remembers coming here with their mother. We spend our days talking to customers and sorting through new deliveries. Sometimes the fans don't work right and it gets hot, but we manage. It’s just a small shop in a small lane. Nothing more to it than that. If you're on Hospital Road, just look for the turn into Jugi Para. We’re right there at the end of the lane.
