Grasim Industries Ltd(White Cement Division)

Our office is situated in Hooghly, specifically at Purashree in Chandannagar. We are set up at C/O Ashim Banerjee’s place. It’s a bit of a different setup since it’s more of a residential-feeling area but we run the White Cement Division for Grasim Industries Ltd from here. West Bengal has its own pace and we definitely follow that. The pin code is 712136. We have a landline that rings more often than we’d like some days when people have questions about their cement deliveries. It is not a shiny glass office building. It’s just a room where we can sit and get the logistics sorted. Sometimes the humidity is really high and the paper gets a bit damp, but that’s just life near the river. We spend a lot of time on the phone. We know the neighbors and they know us. It’s a quiet enough street most of the time. We don’t do much advertising or anything. People usually find us because they need white cement and they know we are the ones in the area handling it. We try to stay organized with our ledgers and notes. It’s not always perfect. There are piles of folders and sometimes the tea gets cold before we can drink it. We’ve been here for a bit and we like the local feel of Chandannagar. It’s a lot better than being stuck in a crowded city center with all the noise.
