Ghosh Merchant

Ghosh Merchant is located right in Jaykrishna Bazar, which is a pretty active spot in the Hooghly district. We are very close to the Hero showroom, so that is the easiest way to explain where we are to anyone coming from out of town. The bazar is always full of life, especially in the early hours when all the traders are setting up their stalls. Our place is basically a traditional merchant shop. We have shelves filled with different goods and ledgers that we keep by hand most of the time. It is not a high-tech operation at all. We prefer doing things the old-fashioned way because it works for us. The building is an old one, and it can get quite cramped when there are a few people inside at once. We spend our days talking to suppliers and keeping track of what is coming in and going out. There is always a bit of a breeze coming through the front door, which is nice in the summer. We are just part of the local fabric here in Hooghly. It is not about being the biggest or the most modern; it is just about being reliable and showing up every day to do the work. We know our customers by name and we see the same faces every week. It is a simple, honest business life in the middle of the market where everyone knows everyone else.
