Our office is located at 274 Roy Bazar, right in the Hooghly district of West Bengal. People used to know us by a different name back in the day, but now we go by this one. The area around Roy Bazar is pretty typical for this part of the state. It’s a bit of a trek from the main city, but we like it here. We do international services work, which mostly means we are on the computer or the phone for most of our shifts. It’s a lot of data and talking to people in different time zones. The building is simple and doesn’t have much in the way of style, but it’s sturdy enough. We have a mix of younger and older people working here. Some of us have been in Hooghly our whole lives. We see the same faces every day on the way to work. The work can be repetitive, but it’s steady. We don’t have a lot of corporate fluff going on. We just show up, do the tasks assigned to us, and go home. Sometimes the monsoon rains make the roads a bit messy, but we still manage to get in. It’s a quiet life compared to the big cities, but the work is still important. We keep track of our files and make sure the clients get what they need. It’s just a regular office life in a regular West Bengal town.
