Gannon Dunkerley & Co. Ltd.

Our place is at 82 Makhan Chatterjee Lane in Suksanatantala. It's in Chandannagar, which is part of the Hooghly district. Gannon Dunkerley & Co. Ltd. has been in this area for a really long time, and this branch handles the local stuff around here. The lane is one of those typical narrow ones you find in old towns, so you have to be careful driving in. The office is basically where all the logistics get sorted out for our projects in West Bengal. We have a lot of files and old records kept here because we've been active for so many years. It’s a bit of a walk from the station, but most of us just use our bikes to get around. The atmosphere is pretty relaxed until a big deadline comes up. Then it's all hands on deck. We don't really do the corporate talk or fancy presentations. We just talk about the work, the labor, and the materials. Dealing with the rain during monsoon season is always a bit of a headache for the sites, so we spend a lot of time on the phone then. It’s an honest way to make a living, even if it gets stressful. The locals know us as the engineering guys on the lane. We’ve seen many young engineers start their careers in this very office. It’s got that old-school feel where things are done with a bit of a personal touch.
