Datta & Datta Ceramic Works

Datta & Datta Ceramic Works is located right in Gourangdi Bazar. Our mailing address is Panuria, but we are mostly at the shop in the market. It is a small setup where we handle all sorts of ceramic tasks. Dealing with clay and the kilns is a lot of work and it is never as clean as people think. We spend most of our time covered in some kind of dust or mud. The heat from the kilns can get pretty intense especially during the summer months here. It is just a regular local business. My partner and I handle most of it ourselves along with a couple of guys who help out. We do not have any big slogans or corporate rules to follow. We just make the items and hope they come out of the fire without cracking. That is the hardest part of the job really. You spend days on a piece and then the heat might ruin it. But that is just how ceramics go. People from the surrounding villages come by the bazar and stop in to see what we have ready. It is a steady life and we like being part of the community in Gourangdi. We do not do much advertising because everyone around here already knows where the ceramic shop is. We just keep the wheels spinning and the fires burning day after day.
