Dakshineswar Rice Mill

Our mill is located in Goligram, within the Golsi area. It’s a rice mill, so you can imagine there is always a lot of dust and noise when the machines are running. Dakshineswar Rice Mill has been a part of this landscape for years. We see trucks coming and going at all hours, especially during the harvest season when things get really hectic. The staff mostly comes from the nearby villages. We know the smell of drying paddy better than anything else. It’s hard work, and the sun can be quite brutal out here in the open spaces of Golsi. We don’t have a fancy reception area. If you come by, you’ll likely find us near the loading area or checking the grain quality. The machinery is old but we keep it running with regular oiling and repairs. It’s just how it goes in a place like this. Sometimes the electricity cuts out and everything goes quiet for a while, which is a nice break if I'm being honest. We don’t do much advertising. People just know we are here in Goligram. We handle the rice, bag it up, and send it out. There are no corporate meetings, just quick chats over tea about how much stock we have left. It is a very hands-on environment. Every day is pretty much the same, but that’s okay with us. We just keep the wheels turning and make sure the grain is processed properly before the next load arrives.
