Chandimata Rice Mill

Chandimata Rice Mill is found in Gourhati Village, which is part of the Arambagh Tahsil in the Hooghly District. We are very close to Netaji Mahavidyalaya, so we see a lot of students and teachers passing by our gates every day. It is a lively area because of the college, and it keeps the village feeling young. Our mill has been a part of the landscape here for a long time. We handle the rice that comes in from the fields all around the Hooghly area. It is a lot of hard manual labor, moving sacks and keeping an eye on the quality of the grain as it goes through the mill. We are not a fancy company with a big website or a lot of staff. We are just a local business that tries to do a good job for the people who rely on us. The weather in Arambagh can be quite damp, which means we have to be extra careful with how we store the rice so it doesn't spoil. We have a few old machines that we keep running with a bit of oil and some regular maintenance. Everyone in the village knows where we are, and we often have people dropping in for a quick chat. It is a slow-paced life compared to the big cities, but there is always something to do at the mill. We just take it one bag at a time.
