Anny Kids

Anny Kids is based in Chinsurah, specifically at 230, Goaltuli Lane. Hooghly is a place with a lot of history, and our little school is just a small part of it now. We mostly look after the small children from the local area. The school is basically a converted house that works well for what we need. It’s got a few rooms for the different age groups and a space where they can eat their snacks together. We aren't trying to be anything fancy. It’s just a place where kids can learn their ABCs and numbers before they move on to the bigger schools. The street outside is usually quiet, except when it’s time for drop-off or pick-up. We have a few teachers who have been with us since the start. They know all the parents by name. It’s the kind of place where if a kid is crying, everyone knows why and helps out. We don’t have any high-tech gadgets or computer labs. We mostly use paper, crayons, and books. It’s a very traditional way of doing things, but it works for the families here in Chinsurah. Every year we see a new batch come in and an old one leave, and that’s just how the cycle goes for us here on Goaltuli Lane. The building needs a fresh coat of paint every now and then, and the gate squeaks a bit, but it’s our place.
