ANANDAMAYI NIDHI LIMITED

We are based over at 15/3, Makhla No. 2, which is part of the Raghunathpur area in Uttarpara. It’s a nice enough neighborhood here in Hooghly. The office is pretty easy to find once you get near the post office. We usually start our day around the same time every morning, opening the windows to let a bit of air in. There isn't much to the place, just some old furniture and a lot of registers that we fill out by hand. Since we have been here a while, the same folks tend to come in every single month. We know most of them by name now. It’s not like those big offices in the city where nobody knows who you are. We sit here and listen to the traffic outside while we work through the documents. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit there and wait for it to come back on. That’s just how it is in this part of West Bengal. We don’t have any fancy signs out front, just the name of the place so people don’t get lost. It feels like a very normal way to spend the day. Usually, things are pretty slow in the afternoon when it’s hot outside. We mostly just keep to our routine and make sure the accounts are all in order before we head home for the evening.
