Alo Boutique

Alo Boutique is based in Hindmotor, right on B.B.D Road inside the Eliza 2 building. It is a local spot that most people in the neighborhood know about. We aren't a big chain or anything like that; it is just a small boutique where we keep things that we personally like. The shop is usually open from the morning until late evening, and we spend a lot of that time just keeping the place in order. The road outside can be quite noisy with all the traffic going through Hooghly, but inside we try to keep things simple. We have racks lined up against the walls and a large table where we can spread out fabrics for people to see. Sometimes the ceiling fan makes a bit of noise, but it's necessary in the summer. We don't have any polished marketing strategies. People usually hear about us from their friends or neighbors who live in the same apartment buildings. The stock changes quite a bit depending on what we can get hold of, so there is usually something different to look at every few weeks. We keep our records in a simple diary and handle everything ourselves. It can get quite busy during the puja season, and then the shop is full of bags and people trying things on. Most of the time, though, it is just a quiet place where we go about our daily work and chat with the regulars.
