A One Saloon

We’ve been here at A One Saloon for a while now, right on Station Road in Bandel. It gets pretty busy around here because of the trains and everyone heading to work or coming back home in the evenings. If you know the Hooghly area and the G T Road stretch, you probably know where we are located. It’s just a regular shop where we do haircuts and shaves every day. Some days the chairs are full all morning and other times it’s a bit quieter in the middle of the afternoon when it gets hot. We mostly see the same faces from around the neighborhood. It’s a simple setup we have here. We open up early, sweep the floor, and get the towels ready for the first person. There isn't much to it, just keeping things moving. Sometimes the ceiling fan makes a bit of noise but it works fine for keeping the place cool. We don't really do anything fancy or complicated, just the usual stuff people need when they stop by on their way home from the station. People mostly talk about the weather or what’s happening on G T Road while they sit in the chair. It’s just how it goes here. We try to keep the mirrors clean and the scissors sharp enough. It's nothing like those big malls you see, just a local spot on the road. We’ve seen the street change quite a bit over the years but the shop stays mostly the same. Just a place to get a quick trim without any fuss.
