Raghav Farm

If you’re driving down the road from Thirthahalli toward Sringeri, you’ll find us at number 138 in Kammaradi. Raghav Farm is tucked away right there. It’s a quiet place most of the time, especially in the early mornings when the mist is still hanging over the fields. We don’t have fancy signs or a big entrance, just the gate and the land. There’s always something to do regardless of the season. We’re either planting or weeding or checking on the water lines. It’s a lot of physical labor and our hands are usually dirty by noon. The weather dictates everything we do out here. If it rains too much, we’re stuck inside fixing tools or organizing the shed. If it’s dry, we’re out there all day under the sun. We grew up around here so we know the soil pretty well. We aren’t trying to be some massive commercial operation. We just like working the land and seeing things grow. Sometimes the neighbors stop by to chat about the crops or the prices at the market. It’s a slow pace compared to the city, but it suits us fine. We usually end the day pretty tired but it’s a good kind of tired. There’s something nice about being out here away from all the noise. We just take it one day at a time and hope the harvest turns out okay for us this year.
