Being on the Hojai Main Road means we see a lot of action, especially with both Uco Bank and the State Bank of India right nearby. Our shop, Dutta Auto Parts, is usually full of boxes stacked up to the ceiling. We don't just fix things; we mostly help people find the right parts they need to do it themselves or for another mechanic. It’s a bit of a maze inside, but we know exactly where the gaskets and filters are buried. Hojai gets a lot of rain, so we’ve had to fix the roof a few times to keep the stock dry. The main road is always loud with honking and people rushing to the banks, but inside the shop, it’s just the smell of new rubber and metal. We’ve been in Nagaon district for a while, and we’ve seen the town grow quite a bit. Sometimes we spend an hour just talking to a customer about which brake pad is better for the local roads. We aren't interested in being a big fancy showroom. We just want to make sure when someone buys a part, it actually fits. Our counter is old and scratched from years of sliding heavy metal parts across it. It’s a busy life, but we like helping the local drivers keep their cars on the road.
