You can find our group in Hojai, specifically in the village and post office area of Amtola. We are located right near the Amtola LP school, so we can always hear the kids playing during their breaks. The company is run from the home of Laitonjam Akham. We are all local farmers who have lived in this district for years. We started Amberland because we wanted a way to organize ourselves better when it came time to sell our produce. Hojai is a place where agriculture is the main thing people do, so it made sense for us to join up. Our daily routine usually involves checking the fields and then meeting up to discuss things like transport or bulk buying of supplies. We don't have a polished corporate image. Our office is just a room with some chairs and a lot of paperwork piled on a desk. We talk in plain English and local languages, just trying to figure out the best way to move forward. Life here is tied to the soil, and we don't pretend otherwise. When the harvest is good, we are happy, and when it’s bad, we just hunker down and wait for the next season. It’s an honest way to live, even if the work is hard on our backs and the pay isn't always what we hope for. We are just regular people working the land near the school in Amtola.
