About Jindal Stainless – Metals & Minerals in Hissar
We’re over here in Room 204 of the New Engineers Hostel. It’s a busy spot right on O.P Jindal Marg. Most days it’s just us figuring out the stainless steel stuff. Living and working in the same place has its ups and downs, but it makes the commute very short. The room is usually full of papers and some old coffee mugs. It’s not fancy at all. You might see some of us walking down the hall or grabbing a quick bite at the canteen. We’ve been at Jindal Stainless for a good bit now. The walls are that standard hostel color that’s been there forever. Sometimes it gets loud when people are coming back from their shifts late at night. We keep the desk piled with drawings and specs and some half-empty water bottles. It’s a very practical setup for what we need to do. There’s a window that looks out toward the main road where trucks go by. Mostly, we're just focused on what needs to get done before the end of the day. It’s dusty outside sometimes because of all the traffic. We don’t have a big reception area or anyone to greet you. If someone knocks, they usually just walk in and pull up a chair. It’s just how things go here at the plant. We handle a lot from this small space. It feels like a real workplace. The lighting is a bit dim in the hallway but bright enough inside our room. We use those old metal cupboards for storage. You get used to the noise of the machinery in the distance.
