Jindal Stainless Steel Ltd, Hisar

We are Jindal Stainless Steel Ltd, based in Hisar but our office here is in Vill-Thaska Ali. That’s near the Mandheri post office in the Kurukshetra district. It’s a bit of a rural area, so things move a little slower than in the big cities. We like it that way. Most of the people working here are from the village or nearby. We deal with a lot of steel parts and shipping. The yard can get pretty muddy when it rains, so you have to watch your step. We don't have any polished floors or air-conditioned lobbies. It’s a working site. We wake up early to get the loads ready. Sometimes the trucks get delayed on the highway, and we just have to sit and wait. It’s part of the job. We don’t use any marketing tricks or big slogans. We just tell people what we have and where it needs to go. My uncle started this and we’ve just kept it going. It’s a family-run kind of feel, even if the name sounds big. We know all the locals and they know us. If you’re coming from the main road, you have to look for the turnoff to Thaska Ali. It’s a simple life out here, and the work is steady. We don't have many meetings, we just talk as we work.
