Jindal Stainless Ltd, Hisar

We are based over at 1067 in Urban Estate -2 here in Hisar. Most days start pretty early when the sun is just coming up over the horizon. You can hear the low hum from the factory floors long before you actually walk through the main gates. It is mostly about getting the stainless steel orders sorted and making sure the big rolls are where they need to be. The dust from the road gets on just about everything, and you spend half the day just wiping down your desk or the equipment. It isn't a fancy place by any means. We have tall stacks of metal everywhere you look, and the guys are usually busy with the heavy lifting or checking the thickness of the sheets with their tools. Haryana gets really hot in the summer, and that makes the workshop feel like a furnace sometimes, which can be tough. We’ve been doing this for a long time now. Most of the people working here live right in the neighborhood, so we see each other at the local market or the tea stalls too. It’s just a regular job making sure the steel goes out to the buyers on time. Sometimes the trucks are late, or a machine acts up, and we have to stay late into the evening to fix things. We don't have a big fancy office, just a simple room with some chairs where we sit and talk about what needs doing.
