Hari General Store

Hari General Store is located in Raeia village, which is part of the Fatehabad district. If you’re heading toward the Main Bazzar, you’ll see us right near the Aggarwal Dharamsala. It’s a good spot because people always pass by on their way to the bazaar or when there's an event at the dharamsala. The shop is filled with all the basic things people need every day. We’ve got shelves full of lentils, soap, and biscuits. Some days it’s really quiet and I just sit on the stool near the entrance watching the tractors go by. Other days, like during festivals, it gets so crowded that you can barely move between the aisles. The floor gets a lot of mud on it when it rains since the road outside isn't perfect. I try to sweep it twice a day but sometimes I just give up until the evening. We keep the milk in the cooler near the back because that’s where the plug is. Sometimes the regulars come in just to talk for ten minutes before they even buy anything. It’s part of how things go here in the village. We don't have fancy displays or anything like that. Everything is just stacked where there’s room. If someone needs something from the top shelf, I have to get the old wooden ladder out. It’s a bit rickety but it has lasted us years and hasn't let me down yet while I am stocking the goods.
