Shiv Narayan & Sons

You can find us at Plot No. 63 in the Auto Market, Phase-Ii. Shiv Narayan & Sons is a family name, and we’ve been working out of this same plot for quite a while now. The auto market is always noisy with the sound of metal hitting metal and horns honking, but you get used to it after a few weeks. We mostly deal with parts and some mechanical stuff for the bigger vehicles that come through here. The floor is usually a bit oily, and there are stacks of metal bits everywhere you look. My sons help out with the heavy lifting and the bookkeeping when things get really crowded. We aren’t really the type to have a polished office with air conditioning. We just have a few old wooden chairs and a big desk where we keep the receipts. Sometimes the power goes out in Phase-Ii, and we have to work by the light coming in from the big front door. It’s honest work, and it’s what we know how to do. Customers come back because they know we’ve been here forever and we don't move around. We see a lot of the same faces every week, mostly other mechanics or drivers who need something fixed quickly so they can get back on the road. The sun hits the front of the shop pretty hard in the afternoon, so we usually have a tea break around then to wait for the shade to come.
