Shalini Hospital

We are located right here in Tohana. It’s not a huge place, so most people know where we are without needing a lot of directions. Being in a town like Tohana means we see a lot of the same faces over and over again. It’s a bit different from the big city hospitals where nobody knows your name. Here, we know who belongs to which family. The hospital is a straightforward building. We have the wards and the consultation rooms, and they stay pretty full most of the time. Life here moves at its own pace. Some mornings start very early when the farmers come in before heading to the fields. Then it gets quiet in the afternoon heat, and then busy again in the evening. We don't have any fancy robots or high-tech glass walls. It’s just a regular hospital with white walls and sturdy beds. The staff is mostly local, so we all speak the same way and understand what people need. Sometimes we run out of chairs in the waiting area and people just stand around and talk. It’s a community thing as much as it is a medical thing. We just try to keep things running smoothly so the folks in Tohana have somewhere to go when they get sick or hurt. It’s hard work and the days are long, but that’s just how it goes for us here in this part of town. We just keep doing what we do.
