Our office for Petron Engg.Const.Ltd. is actually located inside the Reliance Energy site over in Vill-Khedar. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here to Barwala in the Hissar district, but this is where the main action is happening right now. Being part of the R.G.T.P.P project means we spend a lot of time on the ground rather than sitting in a polished city office. The environment here is very industrial, as you might expect from a power plant area. We have our setup here to make sure the engineering and construction parts of the job move along as they should. It gets very dusty and the weather in Haryana can be pretty extreme, swinging from really hot to quite cold depending on the season. We mostly just focus on our daily schedules and making sure the technical requirements are met for the site work. Most of us stay close by or travel in from Hissar. It’s not the kind of place where you’ll see fancy receptionists or coffee machines. It’s more about hard hats, boots, and getting the engineering side of things right. We’ve been at this location for the duration of the project, and it feels like a second home now, even if it is just a bunch of site offices and heavy machinery everywhere. We keep our paperwork organized in the cabins and spend the rest of the time out there where the actual building happens. You get used to the noise of the plant after a while. It's a tough environment but it's what we do. We just get on with the job in Khedar.
