Jindal Stainless Limited, Hisar

This is the R&D wing of Jindal Stainless Limited, Hisar, and we are based out of the 125005 area in Haryana. People often think Research and Development means high-tech laboratories with people in white coats, but our reality is a bit more practical. We spend our time testing the properties of stainless steel, looking at the grain and the durability of the metal. It’s a lot of hands-on work that can get a bit messy. The facility in Hisar is dedicated to making sure the quality is where it needs to be. We have various machines and testing equipment scattered around, and the smell of metal is something you just get used to after the first week. It’s not a flashy environment. Most of us are more comfortable in our work boots than in suits. We spend our days taking measurements, recording data, and occasionally arguing over the results of a stress test. It is a bit isolated from the main sales offices, which suits us fine because it gives us the room to concentrate. The Hisar weather can be tough on the equipment, so we spend a lot of time on maintenance too. We don’t have a mission statement on the wall; we just have a list of tasks that need to be completed before the shift ends. It’s a grounded, technical space where the focus is strictly on the stainless steel and nothing else.
