About G.R. Granites & Marbles – Building & Construction Material in Hisar
Our yard is out on Barwala Road, specifically at the 7th Kilometer Stone. You can’t really miss it if you’re driving past the Balaji petrol pump. It’s a big open space because granite and marble take up a lot of room. Most of our day is spent moving heavy slabs around with the crane or just checking the polish on the new batches that come in. It gets pretty noisy with the cutting saws running, and there is always a layer of white dust over everything, including our clothes. We started this place because we knew the area around Talwandi Rana was growing. Now, we just spend our time showing people the different patterns in the stone. Some days it’s quiet and we just organize the stacks, and other days it’s a mess of trucks trying to back in without hitting the gate. We don’t have a big office or anything. Just a small desk where we sit and talk to folks about what kind of flooring they’re looking for. The sun beats down on the stone slabs out there, so they get pretty warm by afternoon. We just try to keep the stock moving. It’s simple work, really. You look at a piece of stone, you see if it’s cracked or good, and you sell it. We’ve been here long enough that the local workers know exactly where to find us when they need a kitchen counter done.
