Omkar Trading Company

Omkar Trading Company is right there in the Saraswathi Complex at 649/84, very close to Gandhi Circle in Hiriyur. Being in Chitradurga, we get a lot of people passing through this area, and Gandhi Circle is usually the place where everything happens. Our shop in the complex isn’t very large, but we pack it full of whatever trading goods are in demand at the moment. It’s a bit of a climb if you’re coming from the street, but most people know the complex well enough to find us easily. We open up early to beat the heat, as Hiriyur can get quite warm by midday. The atmosphere in the complex is always lively with other shopkeepers opening their shutters and shouting greetings across the way. We spend a lot of time on the phone or talking to people who drop in to see what we have in stock. There isn’t a lot of space for sitting around, so it’s mostly standing and moving things from one corner to the other. Our ledgers are usually spread out on the main counter where we keep track of everything coming in from our suppliers. We aren’t trying to be anything more than a reliable trading spot for the local community. It’s a simple life of buying and selling, and we’ve gotten used to the noise and the constant movement of the circle outside our doors. Every day is different depending on what people are looking to trade, which keeps things interesting enough for us.
