Kisan Spices

Kisan Spices is located in Ganesh Colony, right near the Civil Center on Sarfa Road. We are pretty close to the Shani Mandir Road, which is a landmark most people in Shahganj know well. Our shop is in a busy part of the city, so there is always noise from the traffic and the markets nearby. We have been here for years, and the building shows its age a bit, but it serves us well. Inside, it’s mostly shelves and storage for the various spices we handle. The smell of turmeric and chili is always sticking to our clothes. We spend our days measuring out portions and talking to the local vendors who come to buy from us. It’s not a high-tech operation. We use old scales and paper bags for the most part. There’s a lot of heavy lifting involved, moving sacks from the back to the front. We don’t have air conditioning, so the summers can be quite a challenge, but we just keep the fans going and get on with it. The customers are mostly locals who have been coming to us for a long time. We don’t do much advertising; word of mouth has always been enough for us. It’s a simple, honest way to make a living, right in the heart of the community where everything is happening. We usually close up when the sun goes down and the street starts to get a bit quieter.
