Sri Kanakamahalaxmi General Stores

We are over here in Sriharipuram at Sri Kanakamahalaxmi General Stores. Most people know us because we are right opposite the two temples in Jawaharnagar. It is a busy little spot in Visakhapatnam. Every morning I come in and roll up the heavy shutters. It is usually pretty quiet until the sun gets higher in the sky. I spend a lot of my time just organizing the packets and the plastic bins on the shelves. Sometimes the dust from the road gets inside so there is always cleaning to do. We have lived around here for a long time so we know most of the faces that walk through the door. It is not a fancy place but it gets the job done for the families nearby. Sometimes people stop in just to escape the heat for a minute or ask for directions because of the temples across the way. I keep the basic things people need for their kitchens and their homes. It gets crowded in the evenings when everyone is coming back from work and school. I try to keep everything where it belongs but things move fast. We don't have a big staff, just us making sure the stock is ready for the next person. Sriharipuram is our home and this shop is where we spend all our days. The 530011 area has changed some over the years but our corner stays pretty much the same. It is just a regular life running a store like this one.
