Kala Industries

Kala Industries is located right opposite the APMC Yard, which is a very busy part of town. It is a good spot for us because there is always something happening right outside our door. You can see the tractors and big trucks coming in with their loads all through the day. The dust from the yard usually settles on our front windows, so one of us has to wipe them down every morning just to see out. It is a hardworking atmosphere here. We do industrial-style work, so it is definitely not a clean office job. Most days we have grease on our hands and the smell of metal and earth is just part of the air we breathe. My brother and I started this place together years ago. We have two guys working with us who have stayed for over five years now, so they feel more like family than employees. We usually eat our lunch together on a wooden bench out back, just some rice and curry from home. The roof is made of corrugated metal, so when the heavy rains come, it gets so loud that you can't hear anyone talking. We just stop what we are doing and wait for the storm to pass. People come to us because they know we are easy to find. We don't do any fancy advertising. If you do an honest job, people tell their neighbors. It is just a practical way to run a business.
