Indu Kirana Store

Indu Kirana Store is right on the Main Road in Malkapuram. Living and working in Visakhapatnam means you get used to the humidity and the crowd. My shop is one of those places where you can find all your kitchen essentials like dal, rice, and different kinds of flour. We keep the stock in big gunny bags and smaller packets too. I’ve been here for years, and the Main Road has changed a lot with more cars and people, but my shop stays pretty much the same. I start the day early by sweeping the front and arranging the fresh milk packets that arrive in the crates. It’s a lot of lifting and moving boxes around, which keeps me busy. I don't use any high-tech systems for my accounts; I just have a thick ledger where I write everything down at the end of the day. The local women come here because they know I keep the things that they usually ask for and it isn't too expensive for their budgets. If someone is short on cash, I sometimes let them pay me next week when they get their salary. That’s how it works in a local neighborhood like ours. It’s a bit noisy with the buses going past, but I don't mind it much. I’ve got my regular stool behind the counter and a small fan to keep me cool. It’s a decent life. I just want to make sure the people in Malkapuram have a reliable place to get their food supplies.
