Vsoba Building Material & Steel is right near the Mandi Petrol Pump on Station Road in Karauli. It’s a good spot because everyone knows where the petrol pump is. We handle a lot of steel and various building materials. It’s heavy work, moving those rods and sheets around all day. We don't have a shiny showroom. Everything is kept in the warehouse or under the sheds. The ground is usually covered in scrap and dust, and the sound of metal clanging is something you get used to. We started this because there was a need for these things in the district. We don't have a mission statement hanging on the wall. We just try to get the orders right and loaded onto the trucks without too much trouble. Sometimes the steel prices go up and down and we have to explain that to people, which isn't always fun. Most of our regulars are local contractors who just want to get their supplies and get back to their sites. We drink a lot of tea and talk about the weather or the news while we wait for the next delivery. It’s a straightforward business. We don't pretend to be more than we are. Just a place to get your building stuff on Station Road. We usually close up once the sun goes down and the last truck has left the yard for the evening.
