Ved Prakash Stones

Ved Prakash Stones is located at plot R-8 in the Riico Industrial Area over in Hindaun. Being in the Kerauli district means we are right in the heart of where a lot of this stone comes from. Our shed is pretty basic, just like most of the others around here in the industrial zone. We spend most of our days hearing the sound of saws and the hum of the overhead crane. It is a loud environment, but you get used to it after the first week. We have been operating from this same spot for quite a while. The guys who work here are mostly from the nearby villages, and they know a lot about how stone behaves when you cut it. We don't go in for fancy talk or big promises. We just look at what needs to be cut and we get to it. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we all have to sit around and wait, which is frustrating but it's just how things go here. We keep a stash of water and some benches in the shade for when we need a break. It is a lot of physical labor, moving slabs and checking for cracks. We don't use much technology besides the machines themselves. Most of our business comes from people who have known us for years. We just try to keep the yard organized and make sure we don't fall behind on the work that's currently on the books.
