Shams Auto Parts sits right in the Samruddhi Complex in Himatnagar. Being near the LIC office helps people find us when they are navigating through the Naya Mandir area. The shop is usually pretty busy from the moment we pull up the metal shutters in the morning. We have piles of boxes everywhere filled with different car components and bike spares. The shelves are high and sometimes we need a ladder to get to the things right at the top. It is a bit dusty because of all the traffic on the main road, but that is just how it is around here. We spend most of our time looking through part numbers and talking to regular customers who have been coming to us for years. There is no air conditioning, just a couple of ceiling fans that hum all day long while we work. We keep a stock of everything from headlamps to small washers that are hard to find elsewhere. Sometimes the delivery trucks block the entrance for a bit while we unload new crates. It can get a bit hectic when three people are asking for different things at once. We usually have some tea around four o'clock while we check the inventory one last time. It is not a fancy showroom by any means, but it is our workspace and we know every corner of it. Most people just call out from the street when they arrive.
