Shree Mahavir Furniture

We are located near the Akodara cross road. If you find the animal hostel, you are basically there. It’s a bit of a landmark for us. Our workshop and shop are pretty much the same place. You can hear the saws going and smell the sawdust as soon as you get close. We have all kinds of furniture pieces sitting around in different stages. Some are finished and some are just pieces of wood waiting to be joined. We don't have a glossy catalog or a website. Most people just see what we have on the floor or tell us what they need for their house. The ground is usually covered in wood shavings. We don't have a fancy air-conditioned showroom. It’s an open space where the wind blows through. Working near the cross road means it’s never quiet. There are always tractors or cars passing by. We’ve been doing this for a long time. Our hands are usually rough from the work, but that’s part of it. We make things that are solid and meant to last. We don’t go in for those modern styles that break after a year. It’s just us and a few tools. Sometimes we sit outside when it’s slow and watch the traffic near the hostel. It’s a basic life, making tables and cupboards for the people around here. There is always more work to be done and wood to be cut for someone’s home.
