Roushan Steel

Roushan Steel is located in Pagar, over in Hazaribagh. We are right near the Jagannath Mandir, so it is easy to find us if you are coming for prayers or just passing through the area. We deal in steel, mostly for building and small construction jobs around the village. It is a heavy job, moving all that metal around, but we have gotten used to it. The shop is basically a big shed where we keep everything out of the rain as much as we can. My father started this and now I help run things. We don't have any fancy computers or tracking systems. We just write things down in a ledger and keep track of who owes what. It is a lot of hard work and the dust from the road gets everywhere. Sometimes people stop by just to chat since we are so close to the mandir. We don’t mind. It makes the day go faster. We try to keep a good variety of sizes in stock so builders don't have to wait. If we don't have it, we try to get it from the bigger city, but that takes time. Most folks understand how it works. We are just a small steel yard trying to stay busy and provide for our families while helping others build their own homes. It’s just simple work we do here.
