Millat Academy is tucked away on Ansari Road over in the Khirgaon area of Hazaribagh. If you walk down the road, you can’t miss us. It’s a lively spot, especially in the mornings when the sun is just coming up and the students are walking through the gates. We’ve been here for years, and the building has seen a lot of faces pass through. Inside, it’s mostly just the sound of chalk on boards and the shuffle of feet in the hallways. We have different rooms for the various grades, and we try to keep things organized, even when it gets a bit hectic. The staff room is usually where you will find most of us drinking tea and going over the day's plans before the kids arrive. It isn’t a huge place, but we make use of every corner we have. Sometimes the noise from the street gets in, but we are used to it by now. Hazaribagh has its own pace, and we just follow along with it. We spend a lot of time making sure the registers are updated and the classrooms are ready for the next day. There is always some maintenance to do, like fixing a leaky tap or painting a wall that is looking a bit dull. It’s just how things are at a local school. We don’t do anything flashy, we just open the doors and get to teaching. It’s a regular part of the neighborhood and we like it that way.
