Ankit Knit Wears

You can find Ankit Knit Wears in the middle of the chaos at Mangal Bazar. We are on the top floor, above the New Bke Showroom, right near Budhwa Mahadev Chowk. It’s quite a climb up the stairs, and we often tell people to take their time if they aren't used to it. Being near the KV Government College means we see a lot of students walking by, though they aren't usually looking for knitwear. Our space is filled with bags of wool and finished sweaters piled up on long tables. We spend our days checking the stitching and making sure the sizes are marked correctly. In Ranchi, it gets surprisingly cold, so we stay very busy for a few months and then things slow down a bit. The top floor gets a lot of light, which is good for seeing the small details in the knitting. We don’t have a fancy showroom with glass cases. It’s more like a workshop where you can see the work being done right in front of you. Sometimes we have to move the tables around to make room for a new shipment of yarn. It’s a bit cramped and the fans make a lot of noise, but it’s our space and we have been here for a long time now. People know to look for us at the very top of the building when they need something warm.
