Our business, Thrishika Chits Private Limited, is based in the Kurubageri area of Ranebennur. It is in the Haveri district of Karnataka. The office is just a regular room in a local building. We do not have a lot of signage or anything fancy hanging up. People around Kurubageri just know where we are because we have been around for a bit. It is a small operation. We have a few desks where we keep all the records for the chit funds. It is a lot of manual work, checking names and numbers over and over again to make sure no mistakes are made. We do not use fancy technology, just the basics like pens, paper, and calculators. The office can get a bit stuffy in the summer heat, but we keep the windows open to catch any breeze. We are usually busy with people dropping by throughout the day to drop off money or check the status of their group. Ranebennur is a place where everyone kind of knows everyone else, so we end up chatting a lot with the folks who come in.
