Sreejith Stores

Sreejith Stores is at 11/277 on the Main Road in Karwar. We have been here for years and we have seen the town change quite a bit in that time. The Main Road is always noisy with cars and bikes, and during the tourist season, it gets even busier. Our shop is a typical local store where you can find all the daily essentials like rice, pulses, and household items. I spend my day sitting behind the counter, talking to the regulars who have been coming here since they were kids. Karwar is a beautiful place but the humidity can be a bit much, so we have a couple of old ceiling fans that never stop spinning. The shelves go all the way up to the ceiling and I usually need a ladder to reach the stuff at the very top. It’s a bit cramped inside with all the sacks of grain on the floor but that is just how a busy store looks. My son helps me out in the evenings when the crowd gets bigger. We don’t really do any promotion because everyone in the neighborhood knows where we are and what we have. Sometimes we just sit outside on the steps when things are slow and watch the people go by. It is a simple life and the work is steady. We just try to keep the stock fresh and the prices fair for everyone who walks through the door.
