Magod Leaf Industry

Magod Leaf Industry is based in Honnavar at 3/8/5. We are right near the Divine Gifts Store, which is a good landmark for anyone trying to visit. Our work revolves around processing leaves, which is a common thing in this part of the country. It’s a simple process but it requires a lot of attention to detail. We have a small group of people who come in every day to help with the sorting and drying. The smell of the leaves is everywhere in our workspace. It’s a natural product, so we have to deal with the seasons and the weather quite a bit. If it’s too damp, things take longer. We don't have any high-tech machinery, just the basic stuff that gets the job done. The workspace is a bit cramped sometimes when we have a big batch coming in. We aren't a corporate entity with a board of directors. It’s just a local industry providing work for a few families. We sell mostly to local vendors and people who need natural packaging or plates. It’s a quiet life for the most part. We just focus on how the leaves look before they go out the door. We don’t do much advertising, mostly people just know we are here. We stack the finished products neatly in the back and wait for the pickups. It's a rhythm we've gotten used to over the years, and it works for us. We just keep going.
