Bhagwati Daal Mill

You can find us at Lal Wala Pech, right near the Sadabad Gate in Hathras. It’s a part of town that has been around for a very long time, and you can see it in the old buildings. Being near the gate means there is a lot of history in the bricks and the narrow paths around us. We are also close to the Bh Mill, so this whole area often smells like processing and grain. It’s a good, heavy smell that we’ve grown to like. Our mill is a busy place most days. We have bags of daal stacked up nearly to the ceiling and the machines make a constant hum that you can feel in your feet. It’s definitely not a quiet job. We usually get pretty dusty by the end of the day, but that’s just how it goes when you work with grain like this. The Sadabad Gate area is always crowded with carts, bicycles, and people carrying heavy loads. We’ve been here at Lal Wala Pech for a long time. People around here know our name and they know exactly where to find us when they need something. We don't have a website or any fancy phone apps. If you want to talk to us, you just come down to the mill. We sit on the steps out front sometimes when the weather is nice and clear. It’s a very basic way of living and working. We don't have flashy logos. We just wear our regular clothes and work.
