We are tucked away in Agb Layout, 2nd Stage, specifically at 49 on the 4th Cross. It is a residential neighborhood mostly so it is quite calm. You won’t find much foot traffic here unless it is people living on this specific block. We started Malnad Spices to provide something local for the families nearby. The shop is small and is actually part of the building where we live. We do not have a big neon sign or anything like that out front. Just the name on a small board near the gate. Inside, it is mostly shelves with different powders and whole spices in glass jars. We do a lot of the packing ourselves into small plastic bags. Sometimes the weighing scale acts up and we have to reset it three or four times. It is a bit frustrating when there is a line but we handle it. The 4th Cross is usually very quiet which I like. I can sit and read the paper when nobody is around in the afternoons. Then someone will come in for some turmeric or chili powder for their dinner. We try to keep everything tidy but with spice powders there is always a little bit of dust on the counter. We do not use any fancy marketing tricks to get people inside. We just sell what we have on the shelves. It is a simple life.
