Mechanical Engineer

Down here in Kothapakalu, things move a bit slower than in the big cities. My name is Chittibabu and I’ve been doing this mechanical work for quite some time now. My father, Nagaraju, taught me a lot about how things work when I was younger. Thondangi is a quiet place and my setup is right here at home. I handle mostly local repairs and whatever technical problems the farmers or neighbors bring to me. It’s not a big company with a lot of staff. It’s just me and the tools I’ve collected over the years. Some days I’m busy from morning until the sun goes down, and other days I’m just tidying up the workspace. The East Godavari district gets quite hot, so I usually start early in the morning to beat the heat. People know where I live, so they just come by when they have a broken part or need something looked at. I don’t have a website or any fancy signs. Word of mouth is how everyone finds me. I’ve lived in this village my whole life and I like being the person people can turn to when their machinery acts up. It’s honest work and it keeps me busy. Sometimes parts are hard to find around here, so I have to get creative with what I have. I just keep working until the job is done right and things are spinning again.
